This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Hi there. I see it's been over 120 weeks since you last posted anything, I'm just posting this on the extreme offchance you decide to check back someday.
Generally, when artists leave dA, they choose one of three options of dealing with their artworks.
1, they choose to deactivate their account. Their icon turns default, and any links to their profile are broken. Complete disappearance. In the case of stock artists, this causes all artists that have used their work and have linked to their provider to lose the original canvas photo, and the name of the artist that provided them.
2, they decide to put all their deviations in storage mode, possibly just to leave a goodbye message, or stay on their friends' lists as a reminder, or any number of reasons. In the case of stock artists, the loss to the artists that relied on them is not as great; though the canvases are lost, at least they can link to the provider.
3, they choose to leave their gallery completely as it was the last time they logged on. In the case of stock artists, this means all other artists can still use their photos for canvas, and artists (at least the reputable ones) will continue to leave notes regarding their use. As long as the rules stay posted, the machine keeps working.
Basically I composed this just to ask you a question. What made you choose the avenue you did? Simply curiosity and no more, I assure you, but I will say it's my personal belief that the world has lost enough artwork throughout history, the more we can preserve the richer we become. In the case of stock artists, the more canvas they allow artists to use, the more raw material there is for the creation of artwork. Just my personal opinion
